In North Barrackpore Municipality the total quantity of water supplied through piped system is 17.81 MLD per day on an average. Ground water accounts for the entire supply. The total number of connections at present is approximately 15,000. There are 14,770 domestic connections and 277 commercial connections. There are 642 stand points and 378 tube wells provided and maintained by the ULB at present. The Barrackpore Municipality supplies 15 MLD water to the residents using entirely ground water and supply is available for 6.5 hours every day. There is no facility for treatment of the water to bring it up to drinking water quality.
